SEAS Library News & Notes

 Summer Reading and Library Hours

Because we feel  summer reading is a beneficial part of a student's education, we have compiled a list of recommended titles for each grade.  We are requiring students to read three titles from this list during the summer.  It should not be a title that the student has already read.  When school begins in September, your Language Arts teacher will assign a writing project based on one of these books.  Required guiding notes to be used while reading these titles are listed below.  An AR quiz is not required.

The SEAS library will be open Wednesdays 10 a.m.-Noon (June 29, July 27, August 3 and August 10).  Books may be checked out (one due date of September 9); but because of software upgrades, AR quizzes will not be available until August.   Points count toward your SEAS Middle School total points.  This is a great time for parents to read and discuss these books with their children!  You can also go the public library, resale shops, and bookstores to acquire the three required titles if your family doesn't already own them.

The librarian and her volunteers collect proofs of purchases for the following companies.  If you use these products on a regulas basis, help us out by turning them into the office.  We purchase books and audiovisual materials with these programs.  Visit their websites to find out what is considered a proof of purchase and what products are available.
